I was an assistant MBB coach at Texas A&M when Paul and I were a part of the 2017-18 Sweet 16 team! When we met, he told me he was from Houston so immediately named him Paul Wall lol! The nickname suck around the program! He was always full of life and very hardworking! We had a special group of student managers at that time, but Paul Wall was easily one of my favorites to be around during my time at A&M! My sincere condolences to his family and friends. I’ll continue to lift you all in my prayers.

Paul was a big brother and mentor to my son in every sense of the word. A simple Google search for “mentors for boys in Houston, TX” led us to Big Brothers Big Sisters, and before long, my son and Paul were matched. They were brothers for over 3 years. What we didn’t realize then was that mentors become family.
Paul was not only an incredible mentor, but an even more incredible human being. He and Jenna became such important parts of my son’s life, and I will be forever grateful for the love, guidance, and care they gave him.
Words cannot fully express the heartbreak of knowing you left this world far too soon. A true earthly angel, gone too soon. Our prayers are with Jenna and Paul’s entire family, and we pray that Paul is now at peace. Fly High Paul 🕊

I know Paul through Big Brothers Big Sisters, where I currently serve as Marketing and Communications Manager. Our first interaction was a conversation about his relationship with his mentee, Searcy, for featured content that would help tell the story of our mission. From the very beginning, Paul and Searcy’s bond and Paul’s genuine service to the Houston community stood out in a way that stayed with me throughout the year I have had the privilege of knowing him.

Anytime I needed Paul for a marketing project, he was there. He always responded to my emails and texts, no matter how small the request. That was simply who Paul was. He was dependable, kind, and deeply committed.

When Paul was awarded Big Brother of 2025, there was no hesitation in my desire to continue featuring him and Searcy. Paul showed up every single time. He showed up for Searcy, he showed up for our mission, and he showed up for his community. There is something incredibly special about a person who chooses consistency and reliability, because showing up is one of the greatest gifts a person can give.

I am truly honored to have worked with Paul, and on behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters, we are beyond grateful that he chose to serve as a Big Brother.

As someone who has known and loved Jenna since we were tiny humans, you can imagine how easy it was to be thrilled that Jenna met Paul and he became her husband. There were many things I truly loved and admired about Paul, but one of the most impressive and admirable things about him was how great of a husband he was to Jenna. He loved her with a force that we all dream of. And I’m learning that that was only just a glimpse into how he loved others in his orbit as well. What a legacy to leave.

One of the very first times I met Paul was when Jenna was visiting me in Austin. We went to dinner, and the plan was for Paul to meet up with us later that night. I think he was driving in from College Station after a basketball game.

Jenna and I ended up going out on Sixth Street and stayed until the bars closed at 2 a.m., but both of our phones had died and we were completely stranded. We eventually ran into a group of people who offered to let us charge a phone if we walked with them to where they had parked a few blocks away. With no other option, we went. Once Jenna was able to charge her phone, she called Paul, and he came to get us. When he arrived, he told us he had been driving around downtown Austin looking for Jenna and was so worried about her.

That night showed me who Paul was - someone deeply caring, protective, and full of love. It’s a memory I’ll always hold onto, and one that brings me comfort knowing how much he loved the people in his life, especially Jenna ❤️

I have many memories with Paul, but probably my favorite was this charity pickle ball tournament that we took WAY too seriously. We wanted to win so bad that we practiced every other day for a few weeks (on the street in front of their house in eado), and we got pretty good. Everyone else at the tournament was just there to have fun, and we were acting like it was the Olympics. I think we got third or something, all I know is we didn’t win. I was so tired by the fifth game that I stopped trying. Paul was pissed 😂
