Mr. Oscar Javier Pena Sr.'s Obituary
Oscar Javier Peña Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. He worked for Fiesta Mart as a Meat Manager for over 23 years; always making himself available to his co-workers to help them succeed and ensure that the quality of his meat department was only the BEST. Also, Oscar won the Quality Achievement Award in April 16, 1996 never in the history of stores has anyone received this prestigious award. He was an outdoors man and loved to hunt and fish and was fast as getting his grill ready for his cookout. He loved to have company and be surrounded by his loved ones. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, compadre, and friend. He always went out of his way to be generous to family and friends, living by his saying “Life Isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass.. it’s about Learning to Dance in the Rain”. Oscar preceded in death by his daughter, Cristina I. Peña, and father Abel Peña, father-in-law Elpidio Araiza. Survivors: Wife of over 35 years, Marta; children, Vanessa I (John) Peña, Oscar J. (Alison) Peña, mother; Estela Peña, brothers; Abel Peña, Ezequiel (Diana) Peña, Arnoldo (Lubette) Peña, and Juan Peña. Sister; Laura Resendez by mother-in-law; Felicitas Araiza, brother-in-laws; Pedro (Gracie) Araiza, Nicolas Araiza, Roberto (Teresa) Araiza, Alfonso (Esmeralda) Araiza; sister-in-laws: Armandina (Alonzo) Olivarez, Nora (Johnny)Vaughn, Gloria (David) Young, Maria Elena (Ernesto) Gallegos, nephews, nieces, and numerous other family members and friends.
