Mrs. Opal Fae Coates-Dvoretsky's Obituary
Opal Fae Coates Dvoretsky, 84, died peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2015, at Clear Brook Crossing Rehabilitation Facility in Houston, Texas.
Opal is survived by her daughter Julia Wheat of Pearland, Texas, her daughter and son-in-law Gerry and Wayne Moore of Houston, Texas; her grandsons Jeffrey Alan Wheat and Jody Austin Wheat, and granddaughter Jamie Michelle Wheat all of Friendswood, Texas, as well as, several nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband Pete Dvoretsky of Pearland; her twin sister Lola Mae Coates of Houston, her brother A.U. "Jack” Coates of Arlington, Texas; and her parents Ivan Leroy Coates and Alma Thomson Coates of Houston.
Opal Fae Coates was born on July 7, 1931, in Dallas, Texas. She married Pete Dvoretsky on October 25, 1958. Opal worked as an executive secretary for 40 years altogether at Gulf Coast Investment Corporation of Texas, AIM and Handy Hardware Wholesale. She loved her work, and was always very complimentary of her bosses. She was known as a master of grammar and punctuation, and excelled in writing skills.
The viewing with the family will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2015 and the funeral service is at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 North Main St. in Pearland. Her beloved, long-time Sunday School teacher, Chuck Cummings will officiate the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Opal's life.
