Born in Edinburg, TX on January 22, 1941, she was preceded in death by her parents, Maximo and Trinidad Leija; brother, Remigo Leija; and sister, Oralia Scarborough. Her survivors include her husband, Augustine C. Negrete; daughter, Monica Leija; sisters, Margarita and Anabel Leija; and brother, Roy Leija.
