Olfert E. "Buddy" Schellhase
Buddy Schellhase of Pearland, Texas passed away on December 27, 2016, at the age of 90. He was born in Comfort, Texas to Albert Schellhase and Katie Striegler Schellhase in December of 1926. Mr. Schellhase was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Navy from 1945 until being honorably discharged in 1946. He attended Schreiner College in Kerrville, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 1951. Mr. Schellhase was employed as a petroleum geologist by Houston Natural Gas in Houston and Corpus Christi, Texas for a number of years. He later formed his own business in Corpus Christi in the 1960's and worked as a consulting geologist throughout southeast Texas until his retirement. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty Hamilton Schellhase, his son Street Schellhase and daughter in law Lynn Schellhase of Centennial, Colorado, grandchildren Erin Thibodeaux and Christopher Schellhase and great grandchild Joseph Thibodeaux. Arrangements for a celebration of Mr. Schellhase's life are pending.
