Mr. Olan F. Horn's Obituary
Olan Horn, AKA as "Cotton" and more recently as "Pop, was born Oct. 26, 1920 in Pike County, Arkansas.
He grew up in Boyd, TX where he began his career in banking while still in high school.
After graduation he moved to Lubbock where he met and married LaNelle. They had 3 daughters, Sallie, Mollie and Katie. The girls gave them 7 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. Eventually there were 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. After serving the Navy, Olan and LaNelle moved to Houston where he continued working in banking until the age of 70.
In the last few years Pop lived in Assisted Living where he was blessed to have friends in his old age and attentive caregivers. He was crippled in body but fortunate to have his mind. He suffered a stroke on April 10th at age 93 and then transferred to heaven on Thursday, May 8, 2014.
Today he is standing on 2 good legs saying "thank you" to the Lord Jesus Christ.
