Mrs. Ofelia Maria Diaz's Obituary
Mrs. Ofelia María Díaz, 92, born in Havana, Cuba on November 29, 1925 passed away on July 24, 2018. She is survived by her loving family, children: Katherine Slafka, Miriam Prado, Ronald Diaz, and Rose Mata; grandchildren: Edmund, Christopher, Andrew, Angelica, Natalie, Crystal, Matthew, and Adrianna; and five great-grandchildren.
Ofelia was a devout Catholic and devoted to the Virgin Mary. She volunteered at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for more than 40 years as a eucharistic minister and was an active participant in the Guadalupano’s group. In later years, she became a hospitality icon at the Catholic Charismatic Center of Houston. She was a real fire cracker who was loved by everyone and had God’s blessing for anyone who wanted it.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with a rosary starting at 6:00PM. Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 at 10:00AM. All services will be held at SouthPark Funeral & Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. Thank you.
