Mr. Noble A. Wilcox's Obituary
Noble A.Wilcox, 98, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009. He was a recent Carthage, TX resident. He had lived in Pearland, TX forty-two years and a Texas resident since 1947. He was born on May 25, 1910 to Hiram Ulysses Wilcox and Hallie Hester Baker Wilcox on a farm near Campbellsburg, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 64 years, Betty Lou Clark Wilcox, daughter, Virginia Kay Luccisano, son, James Noble Wilcox, sister, Edna May Wilcox, brothers, John Cleon Wilcox, Bruce Irvin Wilcox and Leslie Baker Wilcox. Survivors include children, Beverly Sue Bradshaw of Pearland, Judith Ann Dougherty of Pearland, Rory Carl Wilcox and his wife, Amy of Carthage; niece, Patricia Ann Rose and her husband, Joe of Livingston; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; brother, Carroll Nelson Wilcox and his wife, Lillian of Campbellsburg, Paul Howard Wilcox and his wife, Juanita of Scottsburg, IN; sister, Mary Ellen Cabage and her husband, Lester of Venice, FL. He was devoted to all his family and his little four-legged companion, Rocko. He was loved and will be missed by all. Noble was a member of the Carpenter's Union for 64 years. He retired in 1962, but continued woodworking as a hobby. Most of his friends and family have at least one piece of furniture he built. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at SouthPark Funeral Home. A Celebration of Noble's Life will be held Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
