Nita Rae Featherston's Obituary
Nita Rae Featherston or Nana of Pasadena, TX was 73 years of age when she went home on February 13, 2024. Her husband of 44 years was by her side the entire time as she passed peacefully from liver cancer.
Nita was born in Houston Texas on September 14, 1950. She graduated from Dickinson High School in 1969. She attended trade school in Houston where she found her interest in medical billing and coding in which she excelled. She worked for many doctors and managed the billing and coding in the offices for 40 years.
Nita met Ronnie in the summer of 1979 and then married Ronnie on June 6, 1980. They were married for 44 years.
Nita retired and enjoyed traveling in the RV with Ronnie and even took an extended trip in the RV to Alaska and Canada. She traveled in the RV many times to Las Vegas to see her favorite performer George Strait. She also enjoyed taking cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. She especially enjoyed spending time being Nana to her grandsons. She also enjoyed visiting their family in Louisiana.
Nita is survived by her husband Ronnie, her sister Charlette Smith of Austin, TX, her children and their spouses Marcy Featherston and Hardy Lewis and Brandi and Billy Whatley, her grandsons Lathan, Tyler, Myles, Austin and Mason and one great grandson Tate, and many nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Nita is preceded in death by her parents Charles L. Smith Jr and Juanita Ashley Smith, and her sister Donna Moody.
