Nathan Emmanuel Colchado's Obituary
Nathan Emmanuel Colchado passed on March 27, 2021. He was born to Olga and Samuel Colchado on January 10, 1994 in Houston, Texas. Nathan was born a healthy 9 lbs. 13 oz baby. Since the day he was born, his cry was so strong that we knew he would always be heard. As a child he was very mischievous but so loving and caring at the same time. He was adventurous, fearless, and willing to take chances so he could experience life to the fullest.
As he came into his teens, he accepted Christ at the age of 16. He started becoming more active in the church in different ways. About the same age he became interested in learning to play instruments. On his 17th birthday we gave him his first bass and he never turned back after that. He was a self-taught musician learning bass, guitar, keyboard, drums and eventually also learning everything audio and recording.
His life was always to serve through worship and do it in the best way possible, for the honor and glory of God. Through the last 10 years, Nathan helped different churches in different way through VBS, fundraisers, to teaching music and setting up audio/video systems.
He never said no to helping with everything church related, whether it was through music, art, or food. A few years ago, he started teaching himself how to grill and smoke meats. He really enjoyed eating and trying out new foods/restaurants. He was always a firm believer and defender of our doctrine. He was a big young man with an even bigger heart. Even at the age of 27, he was mom’s “overgrown child”.
The love he had for the church, family and his girlfriend of 2 years was never-ending. Nathan went to college but continued working his part time job because he didn’t want a full time job to take away from his dedication to serving God through the church. His laugh and sense of humor will be forever missed as will his music. He touched everyone he met, and we will forever remember his beautiful smile and loud and resounding laugh.
May he rest in peace until we see each other again, in Jesus name. Amen.
He is survived by his parents, Samuel and Olga Isabel, brothers Ivan and Sammy, his sister in law, April Tijerina, niece and nephew, Aubrey and Ivan. He is also survived by his grandmother Francisca Colchado, several aunts, and uncles from both sides of the family and other extended family. He also leaves behind his beautiful girlfriend, Stephanie Cortez, whom he loved very much.
