Nancy Belle (Russom) Vaughan, born in El Campo, TX on October 11, 1939 died Sunday, January 5, 2014 after a long battle with cancer.
Preceded in death by her parents John P. and Alice L. Russom (Evans), brother, John P Russom II and sister, Lettie Hardin and Aileen Finley. She is survived by her loving sons, James Milton Vaughan Jr and daughter-in-law, Kate (Pomeranz) Vaughan, William Stanford Skipper Jr and friend, Renee Curell; granddaughters, Amber Leshay Skipper, Madison Grace Vaughan, Cristina Kidder and grandsons, Corey James Skipper, Bradley James Vaughan and Aaron Michael Vaughan; nephews, Edward DeWitt Finley, John "Sonny" Price Russom III and wife, Hattie, Larry Russom and wife, Janie and neice, Donna Hardin Morris and her husband, Bert. Nancy was blessed with several lifelong friendships, some of which spanned over sixty years including Barbara Eichenberg, Janet Carter, Dorothy Nesthouse and Barbara Jo Green. Nancy loved and was loved by her co-workers and friends at Empire Trucking Company where she worked for the last 25 years. Nancy loved to travel, to the movies and spending time with family. She had a joy for life and loved to laugh. Nancy opened her home to many over the years who needed a home and gave with both hands. Her unconditional love and dedication to her family was a blessing and a testament to her belief in God. She will be greatly missed.
