Mrs. Myrtle Dovie Clemmons' Obituary
Myrtle Dovie Clemmons, 101, entered into rest Friday, February 20, 2009. She was a resident of LaPorte, TX for over 65 years and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1938. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur James Clemmons, daughter, Marguerite Eileen McDowell and granddaughter, Myrtie Lou Coats. Survivors include daughters, Jannie Marie Arnold, Helvis Louise Boozer, Naomi Ruth Saunders and Martha Ann Hudson; sons, James Joseph Clemmons and Billy Joe Clemmons; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at SouthPark Funeral Home. A Celebration of Myrtle's Life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 with Mr. Nick Franco officiating. Interment to follow, SouthPark Cemetery. Great-Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers; Timothy McLelland, Kyle Schmidt, Donald Scott, Jeffrey Schmidt, Jason Trevino, Justin Trevino, Aaron Feldmann, Jonathan Fleissner and Benjamin Fleissner.
