Mrs. Modesta DeLeon's Obituary
Modesta DeLeon was born on April 23, 1921 to Nabor and Josefa Moreno in Sweeny, Texas. She was one of 10 children. She married Jose DeLeon on November 29, 1942. They started their family in Freeport and in 1951 moved to the Arcola/Fresno area but moved to Pearland in 1967. They had seven children. Modesta lived her life as a devoted wife and mother, She became known as MiMi to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jose DeLeon, Sr., four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her seven children, Jose and wife Silvia DeLeon, Irene and husband Don Smith, Modesta and husband Arturo Jaramillo, Perla and husband Larry Bryan, Erlinda and husband Domingo Gonzales, Consuelo and husband Calvin Nolen, Francisco and wife Cindy DeLeon, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Exiquio Moreno and sister Silveria Martinez, and many nephews, nieces and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 9, 2016 at SouthPark Funeral Home from 4PM to 8PM with a rosary at 6:30PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helen Catholic Church at 10AM October 10, 2016. Burial will follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
