Mrs. Mintie Jennette Cornwell's Obituary
Mintie Jennette Cornwell, 68, of Alvin passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2015 after a brief and sudden struggle with cancer. Jennette was born in Hardin County and grew up in Silsbee, TX, proud daughter of Herbert Jackson Whitney and Pearl Mae Hayes.
Jennette was a registered nurse by trade, having worked in emergency rooms, substance abuse and recovery units, and mental health groups. Her career choice suited her perfectly, as she had a naturally kind, outgoing, and humorous personality, traits useful for great nursing and revered among her friends and family.
Jennette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; and her daughter, Paige. She is survived by her son, John, daughter-in-law, Patricia; grandchildren, Lila and Davis and countless other family and close friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at SouthPark Funeral Home, 1310 N. Main Street Pearland, TX 77581. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at SouthPark Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Danny Dean, Brandell Frederick, Art Kissinger, Charles Whitney, Dell Whitney and Jacob Whitney.
