My older brother, Milton... where would I start? As a child I remember when he 'twisted my arm' to get me to do the dishes for him and not tell mom. Well, I did and not a word. Forget the bribe he used, :-)
Then when I was in Jr. High school in Seabrook, TX, it was always special when he came from Houston and would bring his friends as he'd give me a ride in his red convertible. On holidays he always brought fireworks and once he set off one in a bottle and his knee locked and he couldn't move out of the way. Others jerked him back. His bad knee kept him from military service.
When we lived in Arkansas and he came from TX, he'd often bring Harold with him and we always took a picnic lunch and went to the mountain in Hot Springs, Once, Harold was bending over to get something off the ground when Milton shot his rear with his BB gun. Harold almost leaped off the mountain and we were young and foolish so laughed till we hurt.
A more serious side of giving was when he came to my home in Memphis, and since I was having it rough as a single mom, I didn't have a microwave - he went to Sam's and bought one. What a blessing!!!
Then there was a gift of a family of 3 bears that I didn't need, but admired in Janiece's hearing. She later told him and he went back to that store, bought them, took to the car without my knowing and later surprised me. I have them on permanent display in my living room as a living tribute of love from him and Janiece,
Though there are many more things I could share, I hope this gives you comfort in knowing of my love for him and his 'heart of gold'. Milton's li'l sis,,,Lorelei Dekker
