Mildred Lee Johnson's Obituary
MILDRED L JOHNSON
On the blessed day of June 9, 1943, loving and proud parents, Henry, and Helen Johnson gave birth to a little girl in Melville, Louisiana. They lovingly named her Mildred Lee Johnson. The Johnson Family moved to Houston when she was young where they lived on Summer Street in 1st Ward. Mildred graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1961. She started her working career right out of high school for a well-known jewelry store, Gordon’s Jewelers. She also worked at Foleys department store in downtown Houston, Texas. She then launched her career at one of the most prestigious law firms in Houston, Texas, Fulbright and Jaworski, where she was the head supervisor of the mail room, and later transitioned to Air Liquide in the legal department until she retired.
Mildred enjoyed her life to the fullest. Her favorite color was red. If there was a cruise ship or an airplane, she would have booked it. She traveled to many places such as Mexico, Chicago, California, Las Vegas, New York, Acapulco, Virgin Islands. She also loved shopping trips to the mall because that was one of her favorite things to do. She loved having and hosting family gatherings to play board games and listen to music.
But sooner than later all the traveling, shopping, cooking, started to come to an end, as her health started to decline. That’s when God saw that she was tired and needed her to take her rest. Friday evening September 20,2024 God said come and take your rest Mildred you’ve fought a good fight.
