Michael Frederick Robb's Obituary
Michael Frederick Robb passed away on April 30, 2025, in Pearland, Texas, at the age of 72. Mikey was born on November 6, 1952, in Syracuse, New York to Lois Winifred Kotz and Lawrence Osborne Robb. Michael was a devoted husband to his wife Marie Martinez Robb, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage filled with love, laughter and cherished memories. He was a loving father to his two children: a son, Stephen O. Robb, and a daughter, Kayla M. Piña. Michael was also a proud grandfather to Ricardo Alex Piña, Sophia Marie Piña, and Nicholas Ronaldo Piña.
He is survived by his sister Christine Bugnacki (Peter) and brother Phillip Robb (Candyce). He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence (1975), his mother Lois (2002), and his sisters Karen Bisnett (1983) and Carolyn J. Robb (2015).
He was raised in Syracuse, New York, where he attended primary Onondaga schools. He continued his studies at Onondaga Community College.
Michael began working as a teenager at Sibley's Department Store in Syracuse, washing dishes. It was there, alongside Polish and Italian cooks in the kitchen, that he discovered a lifelong passion for cooking. He later moved to California and worked in various upscale restaurants. He always talked about cooking for Burt Bacharach.
On January 1, 1982, he moved from California to Texas, and he never looked back. He met his wife Marie while working at Prudential Insurance. They married and moved to the Houston suburbs and started a family. While in Houston, he attended Houston Community College, where he took great pride in being invited by his history professor to teach a class. An experience he cherished throughout his life. He had a deep appreciation for classic black-and-white television shows and found joy in listening to music.
He was an avid Astros fan once our son was born in 1989. He went to many games and tried to watch every game on TV. During his final moments, we watched the game on TV. Even though we lost, the game was a distraction as he crossed over to a better, pain-free eternal life.
A devoted family man, Michael loved traveling with his loved ones and took great pride in maintaining his yard, a reflection of the care and dedication he brought to all aspects of his life.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
