Mrs. Merrylin Burdine's Obituary
Merrylin Ruth Burdine (West) passed away from this life on April 8, 2011 and she was born on July 1, 1940 in Kirbyville, Tx. At the age of 10; she moved to Waco, Texas where she grew up. Merrylin Ruth Burdine graduated from University High School; then attended Navarro College. Merrylin met and married Willie Eugene Burdine and they had 2 daughters.
In 1963, Merrylin went to a United Pentecostal Church, Rev. E. Davison and in a prayer meeting; she received the Holy Ghost; then pastor baptized Merrylin and Willie (husband) in Jesus' precious Name. She loved to read God's Word and sing songs "I'll Fly Away" she was so touched by God by a song; "Reach Out and Touch The Lord" She is survived by her daughters, Debra Warren and husband Bruce, Darla Coffman and husband Tim and Little Merrylin Burdine; grandchildren, Skyler Coffman, Candice Coffman and Sarah Whitman; sister, Ruth Vahlenkamp and husband Mel; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of other family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the SouthPark Funeral Home. A Celebration of Merrylin's Life will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home with burial to follow at SouthPark Cemetery. For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.
