Melinda Sue Benoit's Obituary
Melinda Sue Morgan Benoit was a loving wife, mother, mimi, sister, and friend. She passed away suddenly on September 30, 2021 at the age of 65.
She was born to Art and Laura Morgan on June 15, 1956. Growing up, her friendships meant the world to her - many of which she carried into adulthood. She lived for fun and never passed up an opportunity to make memories. After graduating from South Houston High School, she obtained her cosmetology license and enjoyed her time living in Houston, living life to the fullest with her friends. After changing career paths to the mortgage industry she met her husband, David. They went on to get married and have two beautiful daughters: Kelsey and Jessie.
Melinda’s fun loving spirit led her on many adventures over the years. Weekend girls trips to San Antonio, Neighborhood Bunco Nights, Happy Hours at Chuy’s with the girls, many Disney vacations, Casino nights on cruise ships, Nights under the Patron tree at The Peso, regular trips to La Kings for a praline, and countless mother-daughter days to the nail salon and Target.
Melinda loved nothing more than being by the beach and spending time with her family. Her three grandsons Grayson, Coltrane, and Miles were everything to her. Nothing made her light up more than being their Mimi. The excitement the boys had every time they saw her filled her heart with so much joy. You could always find her with an iced tea in her hand, watching Friends reruns, and planning her next vacation. Her smile could light up a room and her laugh was infectious. She was always the life of the party. She had a welcoming spirit, nobody was a stranger, and she always made sure to make everyone feel like family.
She is preceded into death by her father, William “Art” Morgan, and her sister, Rebecca Morgan. She is survived by her husband, David Benoit, her daughter, Kelsey Benoit and fiance Daniel Kibodeaux, her daughter, Jessie Hayes and husband Lorenzo, her Mother Laura Morgan, her sister Melissa Morgan, her brother William “Bill” Morgan, her niece Marci Hopkins and family, and her grandsons Grayson, Coltrane, and Miles.
