Meena Varghese's Obituary
Meena was born to Moses Justus who was an SBI employee and business partner at Western Medical, Veliyil House, Kollam and Helen Moses on November 21 1967. She accepted Jesus as her personal saviour when she was in the 10th grade by the influence of her mother who was a God fearing Christian. She did her schooling at St Joseph's Convent School, Kollam. She did her undergraduate degree at Fatima Mata National College, Kollam and graduate program at TKM College, Kollam. After that, she worked in the Bible Society of India in Bangalore. She married Titus Varghese, Kochutheckedeth, Mavelikara in 1993 who was a Professor at Rizvi College, Mumbai. They are blessed with two sons, Danny and Derrick.
Meena was an excellent Christian who was actively involved in serving the Lord along with her husband who was the pastor of New Life Fellowship, Vasai Mumbai. For 16 years, until she moved to the US, she dedicated her life for the ministry of God’s people and of her family. She gave up working and stood by her husband through the planting and growing of the church, using her time and talents to love, nurture, and build her children’s lives in love and fear of God. Despite facing cancer in 2018, Meena overcame the ailment with God’s grace. They migrated to the US in May 2023 and she started working as a teacher at New Millennium Montessori School. She has been attending Living Waters Christian Church since moving to Houston. Meena was a very loving and caring wife, mother and exemplary woman of God. Her gentle spirit and kind heart made a lasting impact on all those around her. Her life was the epitome of 1 Peter 3:4, having the “unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” On December 11 2023, she attended her nephew’s wedding engagement in Dallas and enjoyed the festivities with her family. On that same night she peacefully passed away in her sleep. She left a legacy of love and kindness, embodying the character of a true woman of God.
She is survived by her husband Titus Varghese, son Danny and his wife Sharon, and son Derrick as well as her three brothers Mahi, Raju, Juhu and their families.
Although we will miss her dearly, we take great comfort in knowing that our Meena is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. We look forward to the day when we will see her again in glory
