Mrs. Maude S. Eckart's Obituary
Maude had many accomplishments in her life. She worked in the medical field for 40 years. Her life passion was to breed, raise, show, win prizes for, and just love her Collie dogs. Thanks to her good friend, Louann Young, even in her declining health she was able to always have Collie companions with her until she was separated from them by death. Maude also cultivated many deep and lasting friendships who will certainly miss her. She and Howard were faithful members of Faith Community Church in Pearland until health issues prevented them from attending. They both testified to God’s continuous blessings in their life and proclaimed thankfulness for their salvation through Jesus Christ.
Maude’s greatest accomplishment however, was capturing and nurturing the love she shared with her beloved husband, Howard. While their love began in their teen years it remained strong, through the war, and well beyond… even after Howard’s departing this earthly world. She loved her Lord God and continuously praised Him for the blessing of her and Howard’s life together. We celebrate that eternal love that has now completed full circle.
FROM HOWARD TO MAUDE, 19 YRS OLD
If I were ruler of the stars,
I’d take you there with me.
I’d make you queen of the Milky Way,
And we’d live by a stardust sea.
And dear, if I could guide the beams,
The moon sends down each night,
I’d make them bow before you,
And lead you with their light.
I’d make the oceans murmurings
a song of love to you.
And darling, on a falling star,
I’d send my love to you.

FROM MAUDE TO HOWARD
MARKING THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF HIS DEATH
Somehow – someway – it’s been a year
Since the angels came our way
To whisk you off to Heaven dear,
But to tell me I must stay…
For one more hour – for one more day
Or – for one more thing to do
Before those angels come again
To carry me to you.
There hasn’t been a day go by
That I haven’t cried, sweetheart.
But also – I cry tears of joy
In knowing that when we do meet -
We never more will part.
We pledged our earthly love dear
Between you and me and God
We were so young – but love was true
And God’s blessing was our reward.
And – now - our circle is almost complete.
Each day is one day nearer
When together - we will be with our God,
Holding hands forever.
Always loving you
