Marylin Judie Gills, 77, of Webster, TX, passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2025. Born on August 16th, 1947, in Booneville, MS, to Fern Strange and Sadie Gardner, Marylin was a beloved mother, grandmother, and community member.
Early Life and Education
A Wheeler High School graduate, Marylin was a standout basketball star during her youth. She later moved to Chicago, IL, where she met her husband Darrell Gills, and later moved to Pearland, TX raising their three children.
Family
Marylin was preceded in death by her parents Fern and Sadie Strange, her husband Darrell J. Gills, and her siblings Peggy, Jerry, and June. She is survived by her sister Emily Medieros and her three children:
Raymond D. Gills (wife Nina) of Manvel, TX
Edward L. Gills (wife Barbara) of Fort Smith, AR
Shalaine Welch (husband Doug) of Kemah, TX
Grandchildren and Legacy
A devoted grandmother, Marylin cherished her six grandchildren: Elijah Gills, Meschelle Roe, Micah Gills, Lindsay Gills, Sam Gills, and Sadie Welch. She also had several great-grandchildren.
Personal Characteristics
Known as a loyal friend and the ultimate supporter of her children's activities, Marylin had a passion for shopping and antiquing. She had a love for dancing and listening to some good music, especially Elvis Presley. Her love for her family and God was her greatest attribute.

Burial Service: Saturday, February 8th at 10:00 am
