Mrs. Mary Shepherd Stewart's Obituary
Mary Jean Shepherd Stewart, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at age 86 on May 9, 2018. Mary was born on November 25, 1931 in Alief, Texas, to Mary Robina and Eugene Shepherd. Mary graduated from Pasadena High School and took various accounting courses at San Jacinto Jr. College. Mary had a 50-year career at Exxon Corporation retiring from the Joint Interest Accounting Department in 2002. Mary loved to travel and had a passion for her family, friends, the opera, and the symphony. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Bobby R. Stewart, her brother, Bill Shepherd, and her sister-in-law, Phyllis Shepherd. Mary is survived by her son, Mike Stewart and his wife, Alison; grandson, Michael A. Stewart and his wife Rachel; granddaughter, Madeline DeeAnn Stewart; brother, Walter Shepherd; sister-in-law, Koleta Shepherd; nephew, Scott Shepherd; niece, Cynthia Shepherd; niece, Chris Hurtt and her husband Dusty, and their daughter, Jacquelyn Lacefield. A memorial service will be held at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 N. Main St., Pearland, Texas, on Monday, May 21st. Family visitation will be 9:30 – 10:15 am followed by the memorial service and interment.
