Mary Beatrice Rion's Obituary
Mary Beatrice “Bea” (Page) Rion, 95, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and dear friend went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at her home in Pearland, Texas. She was born on March 23, 1925 in Iola, Texas to parents, Samuel and Minnie Page.
Bea’s personal greatest accomplishment was her family. She was affectionately known as Memaw, Gramand Graham Cracker to all that loved her.
Bea attended Houston public schools and graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1942. She was amember of Richey Street Baptist Church, Pasadena, Texas and a member of Freeway Manor Baptist Church, South Houston, Texas for the past 60 years. Through the years, Bea was employed at Nichols Toy Gun Company, Grumman, Powell Electric, Vestec and retired from Applied Biosystems in 2004 at theage of 79. Bea was also an avid bowler for over 20 years bowling in leagues at Meadowcreek and Armadillo Lanes in Pasadena.
Bea was preceded in death by her loving husband of 14 years, Thomas F. Rion; father, Samuel Floyd Page; mother, Minnie Lena (Burke) Page; son, Larry E. Johnson; two brothers, V.O. Page, Willy Roy Page;and two sisters, Vera Page Fain, and Louise Page Norton.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Patricia A. Teer; daughter, Jane Weeks, Wanda Rihnand husband Ronnie; step-daughters, Jim Rion; step-son, thirteen grandchildren, Dennie Teer and wife Connie, Shelli Hawkins and husband Martin, Larry Johnson and wife Shelley, Troy Teer, Heather Johnson,Angie Kamman and husband Bill, Ashley Kutach and husband Andrew, Kent Weeks and wife Michelle,David Delahay, Dana Benavides and husband Joe, John Rihn, Derek Rion and wife Krystal, Beth Langeand husband Lee; twenty-three great grandchildren, Nicole Teer, Brittani Moore and husband Michael,Jordan Harris and wife Meagan, Brandon Johnson, Jake Johnson, Rafe Johnson, Lauren Teer and partner Adrian, Bailey Teer, Ian Teer, Alyssa Orr, Hannah Orr, Ramsey Kamman, Finley Kamman, Beckett Kamman, Caden Kutach, Ryder Kutach, Willow Kutach, Loren Weeks, Cullen Weeks, Cooper Benavides, Callie Benavides, Clinton Rion, Cody Rion; five great-great grandchildren, Luke Moore, Laurel Moore,Vivienne Allen, Zayne Harris, and Ethan Harris. In addition, the Family wishes to acknowledge the friendship shown to Bea over so many years by her Vegas travel buddy, slot machine comrade, and lifelong best friend Donna Teague; as well as a host of friends and other family members.
Finally, over the past decade, Bea’s daughter Patricia (Pat) has taken care of her every need and in the last year, she has made Bea as comfortable as possible. We wish to thank Pat and are grateful for her compassionate, diligent and respectful care which is evidence of her love for her mother.
Serving as pallbearers are Larry Johnson, Dennie Teer, Troy Teer, Bailey Teer, and Bill Kamman.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mrs. Mary Rion’s honor to the Alzheimers Association at alz.org.
The family will receive guests for a visitation at SouthPark Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2020; and a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the chapel at SouthPark Funeral Home;followed by a burial in SouthPark Cemetery, 1310 N. Main St., Pearland, Texas 77581.
