Mrs. Mary Springer Pearson's Obituary
Mary Ellen Springer Pearson, 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 9, 2015 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Burke, Texas on October 5, 1933 and graduated from Beaumont High School. She moved to Houston and worked as a Secretary for Eastern States Refinery. She was active in many organizations throughout her life, including the Begonia Society, The Colonial Dames, Clayton Library Friends and United Daughters of Confederacy. She was a charter member of the Bluebonnet Branch Chapter of the Daughters of The Republic of Texas and designed many beautiful pins to fund their college scholarships. She also was a Charter member of the Bay Area Genealogical Society and volunteered many hours of her time to Clayton Genealogical Library. Her many interests include sewing, cooking, growing flowers and traveling. Her greatest love was her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and son, Michael Ellis Pearson. Left to mourn her passing are her husband of 58 years, Bill; daughters, Kim Seaman and husband Chuck, Carolyn Cook and husband Craig; grandchildren, Catie and Josh Hillyard, Travis Cook, Jonathan and Samantha Pearson, and Michelle Pearson; great-granddaughter, Spencer Pearson, and many numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, February 13, 2015 beginning at 11:30 am in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home, 1310 North Main St. Pearland, TX 77581 with services beginning at 12:30pm, Craig Cook officiating. Private graveside services will follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
