Mary Joseph's Obituary
Mary Joseph, a loving wife, mother, grand mother and a member of St. Joseph
Syromalabar Catholic church Missouri City, Texas passed away on November 3 rd
2024, at the age of 79.
Born on December 14 th , 1944, in Thrissur, Kerala, India, in a family of nine
siblings, Mary completed her primary education at St Antony’s School. Even
though she was excellent in her studies, she then had to stay back home to take
care of her younger siblings. Despite this, she was a very active member of her
community and was being involved in Kerala ‘vimochanasamaram’ and Khadi
movement.
On, May 30th 1966, Mary and Joseph entered into matrimony, and this past
May, they celebrated 58 years of loving and inspiring marital journey. Even
though she was brought up in a relatively urban community in Thrissur Kerala,
she seamlessly adapted well to her husband’s rural farming family and
community dedicating her whole life to upbringing her children.
Since her childhood she was a firm believer in God and a passionate devotee of
Mother Mary. During the last few years of her life, her beliefs in God and
devotion in Holy Mary grew further strong as she battled extensive health
issues including renal failure and dialysis.
Mary is survived by her loving and devoted husband Joseph V Joseph and their
children, Sophy Henry, Selphy Johny, Siny Babu, Smitha Sijo, Dr. Sijo Joseph and
their spouses. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren; Arun Henry,
Sneha Henry, Anson Johny, Aleena Johny, Athira Babu, Ashmi Babu, Allen Babu,
Liya Sijo, Leon Sijo, Aiden Sijo, and Damien Sijo. Additionally, she is survived by
her three sisters; Cherupushpam Ouseph, Philomina Vargheese and Alphonsa
Ouseph.
Mary Joseph, a beacon of kindness and love, will forever reside in our hearts.
Her legacy, exemplified by her care, compassion and deep faith in God will
continue to inspire and guide us. As we grapple with the loss of her physical
presence, we find solace in knowing that she is now in heaven with God and her
parents; and her spirit lives in our hearts.
