Mrs. Mary Jeanine Coffman's Obituary
Mary Jeanine Coffman, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 10, 2016. Mary was born in Houston, Texas on February 12, 1946 to loving parents Mary Ballew and Richard Ballew. She graduated from Jesse Jones High School and attended the University of Houston. Mary married her High School sweetheart Byron “Skip” Coffman on December 31, 1966. They had a wonderful life together and enjoyed many hobbies such as traveling, fishing, and hunting. They also shared a deep love and passion for animals, especially horses and dogs! Mary was a Master Gardener, and enjoyed working in her yard and anything with the outdoors. She loved being a part of her Bible study class and serving her Lord. She was very proud of her Christian faith. Mary was one of the kindest, strongest, and most giving people you could ever meet. She had a heart of GOLD and a gentle and loving nature that shined through to everyone she knew. She was the matriarch of her family and will be tremendously missed! Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ballew and Richard Ballew, and her brother Tommy Ballew. She is survived by those who loved her including her husband, Byron Coffman; her sons, Byron Coffman, Jr. and his wife Mindy; Lee Coffman and his wife Camry; and daughter, Carrie Coffman-Adkins and her husband Jody; by sisters JoAnn Sullivan and Sharon Schadt; sister-in-law Cheryl Coryell, as well as eleven very special grandchildren and many other special relatives and cherished friends. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of El Campo, TX 77437. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
