Mrs. Mary Beth "Betsy" Brown's Obituary
Mary Beth "Betsy" Butler Brown, whose infectious laugh and big heart made an impression on everyone who knew her, died Sunday, after a difficult battle with cancer. She was 52. At Pearland High School, Betsy met her soul mate and husband of 28 years, Donnie Brown. From their prom night to her last day, Donnie loved and adored her. Years later, when her own children started school, Betsy became a long-time, loyal employee of Pearland ISD. Everyone who knew Betsy knew how much she loved kids. Every child that crossed her path was showered with love and encouragement. Betsy was devoted to her three children: Mary Syble, Doralou, and Donnie Jr., and she instilled in them a you-can-do-anything outlook on life. To her four grandsons: Clayton, Dylan, Jonathan, and Garrett, she was "Gamaw." Any without a doubt, she was the most fun, go-skiing, jump-on-a-water-slide, teach-you-to-ride-a-bike Mom, Grandma, and Aunt you could ever imagine. Betsy is survived by her parents, Farrell and Mary Lou Butler. Betsy gave 110% to everything she did, and she was always wearing a smile. Mowing the yard-one of her favorite things-made her bronzed skin and captivating smile glisten.
