Mary-Alice Zepeda's Obituary
Our beloved Wife and Mother, Mary-Alice Zepeda passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the age of 53 in Houston, Texas. Mary-Alice, also known as Alice to her family was born in Houston, Texas on July 17,1967 to Marcello Z. and Frances Garcia.
From the time Mary-Alice and James met, one of her dreams was to own her own business. In 2002 she began to work on that dream. Her and her husband opened small businesses in order to one day become successful in it. Her latest business venture earned her the respect to be called Doña Alicia in which she so proudly wore. In fact, it made her a bit of a celebrity within our community. She could not go out to any store or restaurant without being noticed. It did not go without notice on how caring and loving she was to people. If she could give you the shirt off her back, then she surely would. That was just the size of her heart. Filled with kindness and love.
Mary-Alice was always the heart and soul of any party. All she had to do was show up and you knew by the end of the party she would have made you laughed until your cheeks hurt. Her smile and joyous soul could make anyone gravitate towards her and you wouldn’t want to leave her side. That was my wife. A very loving mother to Zachary Ryan Zepeda and Jacob Marcello Zepeda. Her dream for her kids were to make sure they had everything they needed. A roof over their head, food in their stomachs and a proper education. Plus, she couldn’t say no to them, so they were able to get everything else they wanted too. She will be missed dearly but our love is everlasting, and we will be seeing each other again at the gates of Heaven.
Mary-Alice is preceded in death by her father, Marcello Z. Garcia. She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, James Ryan Zepeda and children, Zachary Ryan Zepeda and Jacob Marcello Zepeda. Also left to cherish her precious memory is her mother, Frances Garcia; siblings, Marcelo Garcia Jr., Johnny Garcia, Annie Rodriguez, Delia Guapo, Marilyn Garcia, Maria I. Garcia, Beatrice Martinez and husband Michael, Teresa Valle and husband Alfred; In-laws, Ernest and Jovita Zepeda; Brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Annette Zepeda; 16 nephews; 9 Nieces; 10 great nephews; 9 great nieces.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 beginning at 11:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX 77011. A visitation and service will occur Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, South Park Funeral Home 1310 N Main St., Pearland, Texas 77581. The interment will follow at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery at 1:00PM. Mary-Alice will be carried in a horse drawn carriage to her final resting place.
Grief never ends, but it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith: it is the price of love. ~James
