Mary Thekkattil Abraham's Obituary
Mary Thekkattil Abraham, age 71, was called home by God on November 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Mary Abraham was born in Perumbavoor, India to the late Manjooran P. Varkey and the late Sosamma Varkey on June 23, 1950.
She attended Christian Medical College in Vellore and graduated with a degree in nursing. She married her husband Thomas Thekkattil Abraham on June 2, 1975 in Perumpetty, Ranni. They were blessed with three precious daughters to help complete their family. In 1982, with the help of her sister and family, she was able to come to Houston to provide her family with a greater opportunity for success. She worked at Ben Taub Hospital as a dedicated nurse for 29 years and made many life long friends during her career.
She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and enjoyed attending St. Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Church. She also enjoyed reading and studying the bible everyday and having fellowship with other Christian believers. She has left behind a legacy of faith, love, grace and service. She found her greatest happiness when God blessed her with five beautiful grandchildren and she cherished playing and laughing with them.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Sheeba Abraham, sister Aleyamma Varghese, and brother M. V. Peter.
She is survived by her husband Thomas T. Abraham, daughter and son in law Shino and Jorly Thomas, daughter and son in law Supriya and Martin Ziska, sister Saramma Jacob, and grandchildren Luke, Elijah, Jonah, Jayden, and Jayla. She will be remembered fondly as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
