Martha Pauline Ford's Obituary
Martha Pauline Ford was born on November 1, 1937, in Granbury, Texas. She was predeceased by her parents John Robert Hensell and Birdie Mancil Boyd Hensell; Granddaughter Lael Ford; a sister Rebecca Hildegard Hensell Gardner and a nephew David Lee Gardner. Martha passed away at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital in Houston on October 25, 2024. The family would like to thank the hospital’s staff for the professional care they gave to Martha.
She is survived by her 4 children: Mary Catherine Ford Dieffenbach and husband (Craig Dieffenbach); Michael Joseph Ford and wife (Ruslyn Gutka Ford); Martin David Ford and wife (Cristina Owen Ford) and Margaret Elizabeth Ford Pingleton. She also leaves behind 12 Grandchildren whom she loved and was so very proud of. She is also survived by a niece Mary Beth and a nephew James Gardner and many cousins. Joseph David Ford of Houston, Texas is the Father of Martha’s children.
Martha enjoyed younger years playing her cello with the Houston Youth Symphony and the Houston Civic Symphony. She also was a very talented Sketch Artist as she frequently sketched mostly women in different wardrobe as a hobby. She loved reading fantasy and science fiction, especially the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars series. She recited old nursery rhymes to her grandchildren from her excellent memory.
Martha accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior as a youth. She sang in choir at Cypress Bible Church where she enjoyed attending for years as an adult. She was known for her warmth and hospitality, always greeting with a friendly smile and warm hug. She was tender hearted, patient, gentle, kind, and forgiving.
Funeral will be held at South Park Cemetery at 1310 N Main Street, Pearland,Texas, 77581, Phone 281-485-2711 on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Visitation will be at 9AM; Services at 10AM and Burial at 11AM. Martha’s body will rest in peace next to her parents in the family plot.
Pall Bearers will be Steven Dieffenbach; Ethan Ford; James Ford; Jobe Ford; Mark Ford; and Martini Ford.
