Where do you start talking about a guy like this?......I worked with Nick for 5 yrs. and have never run across a more hard working honest and genuine man. I have always had so much respect for this man. And one would never know that he was from IL., especially from his demeanor and the way he expressed his thoughts.
His 'Southern Style' of humor along with his drawl lent more to a South East Texas upbringing than anything north of Dallas.
Rainy days would find many of us at the fab shop listening to Nick's enthusiastic euphemisms, his tall stories, and 'those jokes' as long as the rain would keep the 'management' away from that area we could have a good discussion... I remember that I once showed him a picture of my sister-in-law and Nick quickly said "my God, she's so ugly, she could make a train take a back road!" He was right and I couldn't stop laughing....
His expertise with the torch and welding machine always amazed me, he could create and fabricate anything given enough time and steel.
He seemed comfortable in most any setting I saw him in. Nick would always find.......or make a friend on most any job he worked on. Mark Nichols was a friend and fellow biker. And what a genuinely nice guy.
To his family, ........the people that were in Nick's life were absolutely blessed to know him. His many friends speaks volumes to his life and character. My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to you at this time of hurt, and may God Bless you with a Peace that passes understanding.
Rest Easy Nick Miss ya dude.
