Mariamma Abraham's Obituary
Mariamma (Sally) Abraham, 69, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 15, 2024. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Sally was born on July 15, 1955 to the late K.G. Chandy and Sosamma Chandy, Kuttikandathil, Theodical, in Kerala, India. She is the firstborn of their four children. Her siblings are Saji, Kochumon and Suja.
Sally married Idicheria (Babu) Abraham, son of the late Idichandi Idicheria and K.A. Kunjamma, Paramkimamootil House, Puthur, in Kerala, India on February 28, 1980. Their daughter, Sherly, was born in September of 1982, and their son, Jayson, was born in September of 1987. After living in Dubai for 5 years, they moved to Houston, Texas in 1988.
Sally worked at Bayshore Medical Center from 1990 – 1997 as a patient care technician. She loved working with patients and enjoyed the friendships that she made at Bayshore.
In the years following, Sally treasured time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed trying out new recipes and teaching the grandkids how to cook. Sally's passion for gardening was evident as she artfully tended to the flowers, plants, and vegetables. She found joy in spending time in her garden, watering the plants and even talking to them.
Despite facing obstacles, Sally's determination to take care of her household never wavered. She consistently prioritized her family’s well-being and happiness.
She has been a devoted member of St. Gregorios Orthodox Church in Houston, Texas since 1988.
Sally is survived by her husband of 44 years, Idicheria Abraham, their daughter Sherly Abraham and her husband Bijo, her son Jayson Abraham and his wife Renu, and granddaughters Sophie, Elsa and Navya, her mother, Sosamma Chandy, her brothers, Saji and Kochumon, her sister, Suja, and numerous family members, friends, and church family.
