Maria Soledad Jimenez's Obituary
Maria Soledad Jimenez passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on March 17, 2020. She was born on March 25, 1938 in Gomez Palacios, Durango in Mexico to Fortino and Maria Rios.
She enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, singing, as well as being outdoors.
She was very well loved by everyone she met. She always had a beautiful smile to give and made everyone feel comfortable around her. She could cheer anyone up.
She loved to be playful with her children and that helped her stay young. She always lent a helping hand to those in need and was mindful to lift people up in prayer. Maria always witnessed about the Lord and led many souls to Christ.
She was a baseball coach in her younger years for a children’s co-ed team. She also enjoyed watching the finals in baseball and soccer games. Her favorite soccer player was Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and her favorite Astro was Jose Altuve as she donned his jersey.
She will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
Maria is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jesus Jimenez and her beloved son Jesus Jimenez Jr.
Maria’s legacy will carry on by her beloved children: Elizabeth Jimenez-Garces and husband James; Diana Jimenez-Piper and husband Gerald; Josue Jimenez; Esther “Max” D’Kaya and husband Ross and their two lovely sons who were Maria’s treasures; and daughter Marisol (her namesake) Jimenez-Aranda and husband Edward. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Andres Jimenez and many nephews and nieces.
Her favorite Bible verse was, “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105.
She certainly fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.
“His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Matthew 25:21
