Margie Cahal Jones' Obituary
Margie Cahal Jones, a long-time resident of Tomball, Texas, passed away on October 21, 2022, at the age of 90.
Margie was born in Beaumont, Texas, and she moved to Houston, Texas, when she was 7 years old. The youngest of four sisters, Margie was preceded in death by her mother Vera Miller Cahal Stoddard, her father James Patric Cahal, and her sisters Mildred Linn, Lois Cryer, and Muriel Guthier, and her husband John W. Jones.
Margie is survived by two daughters, Marsha McKay [Bob] and Sharla Taylor [Fred], grandchildren Amber Sembera, Kyle Sembera, Patricia Oughton, Robert Oughton [Melissa], and Mark Taylor, and great- grandchildren Brett Sembera, Brooke Sembera, Brendan Sembera, Ethan Oughton, and Emmersyn Oughton. Margie is also survived by step-grandchildren Angela McKay Goodman, Robbie McKay, Greg McKay, and their families.
Margie graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1950, where she participated in the bagpipe brigade and was a cheerleader. She served as a Girl Scout Leader for both daughters and had many exciting camping adventures.
Margie owned and operated Tomball Dance Studio from 1971 to 1996 and touched many students’ and parents’ lives. She was a vivacious person who directed the Tap Happy performance group and taught dance and water aerobics classes until she reached her mid-eighties.
Margie brought joy to her circle of friends by coordinating fun activities. Margie’s life is a testament to her love for God, her family, and her many friends. She was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.
In remembrance of Margie Jones, the family asks, in lieu of flowers, that charitable donations be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Timothy’s Anglican Church.
