Margaret Laura Robey's Obituary
Margaret Laura Robey was born in El Paso, Texas on June 22, 1959, the third of seven children born to Pablo "Paul" Rojas, Jr. and Bertha Calderon Rojas. She grew up in a little house on Eastwood Street in Houston.
Four of the six sisters, as well as her mother Bertha, were diagnosed with breast cancer. Margie passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 after her own long battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Tia Margie was the funniest, most fun person I have ever known. She introduced me to Aretha, Otis, Marvin, Barry, Chuck, The Beach Boys, Whitney, and the list goes on. She always had the stereo turned up and you could usually find us kids standing on her coffee table singing along with crayola markers for mics. She was the cool aunt, who loved singing Smokin in the Boys Room, I Will Survive, Radar Love and Rockin Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu.
The word No was not a part of her vocabulary. She loved hard and unconditionally. Always had a pot of coffee going and a spot at her kitchen table or on the patio for whoever wanted to shoot the breeze. Anyone walking by was liable to be shepherded into her circle. There was always room for one more.
Margie will be best remembered for her unwavering faith and love of Jesus. She shared her faith openly and generously with everyone she met, and brought those around her closer in their own walks with God. She was at peace during her journey on this Earth knowing that the God of Life has conquered Death and brings everlasting life to those who believe in Him. "And he said to him, Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise." Luke 23:43
Marge was one of a kind, and we will always love her. She joins her mother, Bertha Rojas, father Pablo Rojas and her beloved husband Al in Heaven, and leaves behind the love of her life, her daughter Molly B. Robey.
Margie is also survived by her siblings: Leonard John, Rachel Faili, Rebecca Rojas, Ruth Almarez, Paula Cate, and Kathy Garcia; her stepchildren Jill Robey Dodson and James Robey; and her nieces and nephews: Michael Rojas, Kenneth Daniel Suarez, Valerie Almarez Jones, Andres Kavon Faili, Estefan Arrash Faili, Roxxann Ramon, Jose Ramon, Jr., Max Garcia, Jr., Natalie Garcia, and Sophia Garcia.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Rev. 21:3-4
The family will have a memorial service at a later date at South Park Funeral Home.
