Margaret Cisneros Foisner's Obituary
Margaret Cisneros Foisner, of Pearland, Texas, entered the kingdom of God on February 26, 2022. Margaret was born on October 8, 1934, in Pharr, Texas to Eleanora Gonzalez and Maximo Cisneros, where she graduated from Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School in 1953. Margaret is preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters Gloria Garcia, Delores Gonzalez, Lydia Coy, and brother Richard Cisneros.
Margaret caught the eye of Leo B. Foisner at her graduation mass, where he turned to her brother, Richard, and stated, “I’m going to marry your sister.” And that’s exactly what he did on December 5, 1954. Their 67 year marriage - a gift, by example, to all who knew them - was a living testament of unconditional love, unwavering faith in God and each other, steadfast perseverance, and unification of purpose.
Margaret’s world centered around her love of, and devotion to, God and family. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, where she taught CCE for many years. When her children were young, she volunteered at their schools and helped with their various activities, such as Scouts, dance, and band. Margaret was an expert seamstress and an even better cook. She sewed most of her and her daughters’ clothes, costumes too numerous to count, and the wedding dress of one daughter. Everyone was warmly welcomed in her home, where she was determined to feed all guests - chicken fried steak or enchiladas if you were lucky. Margaret was beloved - by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends - because she gave love selflessly and was nurturing to her very core. She was the embodiment of kindness, honesty, generosity, and devotion. She was a beautiful woman with an even more beautiful soul and she possessed an inner strength and fortitude that could move mountains.
Margaret is survived by her husband Leo B. Foisner; children Richard Foisner (Nancy), Elizabeth Schaefer (Otto), Geri Foisner (Clay Groce), Leo G. Foisner (Joelle), Melissa Hernandez (Roland); grandchildren Rick Foisner (Rebecca), Kelly Troutman (Jaret), Katherine Rorie (Micah), Caroline Schaefer, Adam Castillo (Valerie), Alex Castillo, Victoria Rodman (David), Alicia Lind, Adam Lind, Tristan Hernandez, Sierra Hernandez; great-grandchildren Caleb Troutman, Ryan Troutman, Benjamin Rorie, Cecilia Rorie, Averie Castillo, Natalie Castillo, Leo Rodman, James Rodman; and her siblings Fernando Cisneros (Demetria), John Cisneros (Dahlia), Enedelia Gonzalez (Edwin); and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
“We love you completely Margaret, Mom, Momo, Tía Máge. As your body grew weary and frail throughout the past two years, your inner strength never wavered. We ache in our world without you, yet we take comfort in knowing that you are free of all earthly burdens and that your soul is eternally united with Christ.”
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
