Ms. Marcella Angeli's Obituary
Marcella Angeli, our most beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and friend to so many, passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Savior on Monday, January 13, 2014 a few days before her 85th birthday. Marcella was born on January 19, 1929 in Iron Mountain, Michigan, the third of nine children born to the late Ceasar and Marion (Sonaglia) Badini. She attended school in Iron Mountain until she moved to Houston, Texas and married Bruno Joseph Angeli in September of 1947. Marcie was a devoted wife and mother and a fun loving grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a long time member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Houston and a member of Catholic Daughters of America as well as past chapter president of her service sorority and an active member of many bible study groups. One of her proudest accomplishments was earning her Vocational Nursing certification (LVN) at the age of 47. She dedicated herself to her second career in nursing, following her daughter Susie's footsteps, working at Southeast Memorial Hospital as an emergency room nurse in addition to working in several Houston doctor's offices. An avid reader, crossword, and jigsaw puzzle enthusiast, Marcie continued her life-long love of learning and passed her love of travel to her children and grandchildren. Enrolled in a writing class, she wrote her "life story" and in recent months, enjoyed re-reading those life stories that her classmates composed. She travelled to Italy with grandson David and to Canada with grandson Anthony upon each of their graduations from high school. Las Vegas was a popular destination as well as many other US cities for bowling tournaments with her bowling buddies, which included sister-in-law, Carolyn Angeli, daughter, Caryl, and granddaughter, Michele. Italy was revisited with daughters Sheri and Rose as a celebration of her 70th birthday. She enjoyed taking cruises to destinations such as Alaska and the Panama Canal with friends including Irene Williams and satisfied a life-long dream to travel to Australia and New Zealand. Blessed with a vibrant personality and contagious laugh, Marcie had many friends that she spent time with at the Knapp (Pearland Senior) Center during her retirement. She received a Volunteer of the Year award from the City of Pearland for her dedication to the community. She learned how to quilt and crochet sharing that common interest with daughters, Caryl, Susie, and Tina. She fondly acknowledged birthdays of every one of her children and grandchildren with greeting cards and faithfully sent Christmas and other holiday cards to all. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Angeli is survived by her children: Sheryl Pouncey of Pearland, Caryl Rosten of Pearland, Susan Ohendalski of Bryan, Lawrence Angeli (Mekdes) of Pearland, Rose Boos (Arthur) of Dallas, Tina Hall (George) of Corpus Christi, and Samuel Angeli (Kim) of Pearland. She is also survived by siblings Gloria Kuder of Niagara, WI, Vic Badini of Milwaukee, WI, Barbara Stark (Louis) of Niagara, WI, Rosemary LeClaire (Ronnie) of Iron Mountain, MI, Joanne Seymour of Houston, Tresa Armbruster of Milwaukee, WI, and Virginia Laurin (Mickey) of Ishpeming, MI. She was preceded in death by her Aunt Rose (Sonaglia) Kimmey (" Mimi" to all), her husband Bruno, her brother Ronald Badini, sons-in-law Michael Rosten and Richard Clifford, Sr., grandson James Wayne Ward, III "Jimmy", and grandson-in-law Steve Terrazas. Marcella had 16 grandchildren: Sheila Brooks (Keith), Jim Pouncey, Tom Pouncey, Christopher Rosten (Kimberly), Michelle Grayson (Greg), Anthony Rosten (Stefanie), David Ohendalski (Whitney), Victoria Angeli, Samuel Angeli, Kevin Boos (Trang), Brian Boos, Pam Hall (Eric), Jimmy Ward, Marcella Lockett (Shawn), Richard Clifford, and Nikki Hardy (Cade). She cherished her ever-growing family, taking great joy in visits from the youngest members, Taylor, Reece, Logan, Brooklyne, Olivia, and Kayleigh. She enjoyed a close relationship with devoted daughter-in-laws who lived in close proximity, Mekdes and Kim. A Celebration of the Life of Marcella will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Servant Savior Presbyterian Church, 11303 Hughes Road, Houston, 77089 at 11:00 AM. http://www.servantsavior.org/contact-us.html In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Houston Public Television (pbs.org) (HPM/KUHT, PO Box 4415, Houston, TX 77210-4415, or online at: https://secure2.convio.net/kuht/site/SPageServer?pagename=mem_tribute_gifts or to the charity of your choice.
