Mammen Philip's Obituary
Mammen Philip, also known as Anniyachayan or Anniyanmon, was born on July 30, 1952, in Thiruvalla, Kerala, India to the late Varghese and Lilly Mammen. He was the second of seven siblings. Mammen spent most of his life in Thiruvalla with his family, where he operated a thriving real estate business. He was a born-again Christian and an active member of the Stadium & Town Church.
At the age of 22, Mammen went to work in Dubai for 15 years, where his brothers later joined him. He married Santhamma Philip on March 13, 1980, and they were blessed with two wonderful children, James and Joyce.
In 2000, Mammen and his family immigrated to the United States and settled in Michigan, where they were surrounded by love and support from his brothers-in-law and their families. Mammen worked as a jeweler at Combine International for 15 years, building lasting memories and friendships. He and his wife worked tirelessly to provide the best for their children. The family attended the International Assembly of God Church in Warren, MI.
In 2018, Mammen and Santhamma retired and moved to Houston to be with their children and grandchildren. He was an active member of IPC Hebron.
Mammen is survived by his wife, Santhamma, his children, James and Joyce, and their spouses, Betsy and Ben, respectively, and his cherished grandchildren, Ruth, Reuben, and Josiah. He is also survived by his siblings, C.M George, C.M Joseph, C.M Varughese, Reji Mammen, and Lizy Mammen. One of his sisters, Molamma Mammen, passed away in 1994.
Mammen was a loving family man and a devout Christian known for his sincerity, honesty, integrity, and love for everyone. He was a punctual and disciplined individual who served as a role model to many. He was beloved as a husband, father, brother, friend, and true believer. Mammen loved entertaining guests with his beautiful voice, warm smile, compassion, and tenderness. He was a fervent prayer warrior who loved to worship in church, enjoyed singing old Malayalam Christian hymns, and lived a life centered around his faith. He will be remembered as a dedicated spouse, loving father, and doting grandfather who touched the lives of countless people with his songs, kindness, generosity, hospitality, and unwavering faith. His legacy will continue to live on through his family and the many lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
