Lynna Dell Breaux's Obituary
Lynna Dell Breaux, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3,2020, surrounded by family at Memorial Southeast in Houston. She was born September 1937 in Weslaco, Texas to William “Bill” and Jurlyne Crosby. Lynn (as she preferred to be called) had a passion for music and the Lord. She graduated from Weslaco High school as President of the Student Council, a majorette and made all state band on oboe four years in a row. She received her education in music from Louisiana State University and University of Houston. Mrs. Breaux was director of several public and homeschool bands and choir programs. She also was a member of the New Orleans and Houston symphonies where she played oboe and english horn before her directing years. Lynn’s great love of music had its greatest influence through her devoted, selfless love for her church choir programs and through playing piano for worship services. She had a fun, innovative style that created memorable programs that went beyond the ordinary. She was beloved by her choir members who fondly remarked how they all knew “the look” if the music wasn’t just right. Her life was filled with service for the Lord and for people. She had an uncanny ability to reach people, through music, in a deep and positive way. Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, William and Jurlyne Crosby and sister, Billie Newmann. Mrs. Breaux is survived by her three children, Kenneth Breaux, Donna Gillbee and Sheri Holmes, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Celebration of life followed by graveside service at South Park Cemetery, Pearland, Texas on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 2 pm.
