Mr. Lyndel Eugene Thomas' Obituary
Lyndel Eugene Thomas entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on June 30, 2020 at the age of 87 years old. Lyndel was born in Alba, Texas on January 24, 1933 to Plummer Ava Richardson and Rosco Thomas. Lyndel met Laura Etta Burris and they married on January 23, 1953.
Lyn left East Texas (where he grew up) and went to Houston in late 1951. He met Laura there the next year. He was drafted into the U.S. army three months after they married. After the military, he worked for Reed Roller Bit Co. for 5 years, for J. Wayne Holland, Consulting Engineer for 14 years, and for Brown & Root, Inc., engineering and construction firm, engineering division, for 23 years. He designed air conditioning and plumbing system for office building, schools, churches, prisons, etc. before going to B&R, and, air conditioning and ventilating system for factories, paper companies, petrochemical plants, offshore oil production platforms, Onshore production facilities, copper extraction plants, etc., at B&R. He retired in January 1998.
Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Rosco and Plumer; son Michael Thomas; brother J.C. Thomas, Wayne Thomas, and Dorsey Pearce, and sister Glenda Mewbourn.
Lyndel will always be remembered by his loving wife of 67 years, Laura Thomas, daughter, Deborah Lynne Goolsby; grandchildren, Matt Goolsby, Chris Goolsby, Jennifer Genereau, Lori Engbrock; great-grandchildren, Grei O’steen, Isaiah Genereau, Abby Goolsby, Zach Genereau, Kyden Engbrock; sister, Pat Williams; and brother Bobby Pearce.
Pallbears will be Matt Goolsby, Chris Goolsby, Grei Goolsby, Samuel Goolsby, Bill Blackwood, Tony Williams, Bradley Thomas, Charles Engbrock.
