Today we gather to honor and bid farewell to Luis Alberto Paraco Ruiz, a man whose life was an example of excellence, hard work, leadership, generosity, and a deep love for his family and his country.
Born on September 29, 1954, Luis Alberto was, from an early age, a man driven by knowledge, discipline, and determination. At just thirteen years old, he began his training as a chemical technician in Valencia, Venezuela, demonstrating from that time on an extraordinary maturity and dedication to learning and self-improvement.
His brilliant academic performance earned him a scholarship from the prestigious Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Program, which took him to the United States to pursue graduate studies at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he earned a degree in Petroleum Chemical Engineering with outstanding academic honors.
Upon returning to Venezuela, he dedicated his knowledge and skills to the development of the national oil industry. For more than a decade, he held senior management positions, distinguishing himself through his leadership, strategic vision, and ability to inspire those who worked alongside him.
His entrepreneurial spirit gave rise to IST
from Venezuela, a company that came to become a benchmark within the oil sector. Later, he expanded his business activities to Curaçao and eastern Venezuela, promoting projects that generated growth, employment, and well-being for numerous families.
But beyond his professional achievements, Luis Alberto will be remembered for his immense humanity.
He was a man who understood that true success does not consist solely of achieving personal goals, but in opening paths so that others could also prosper.
mong his most significant projects was the creation of the Esperanza Paraco Scientific Clinical Center, conceived as a tribute to his parents and as an expression of gratitude to those who instilled in him the values that guided his entire life.
Today we bid farewell to a brilliant professional, a successful businessman, a visionary entrepreneur, but above all we bid farewell to a good man.
Luis Alberto's life reminds us that true greatness is born when talent joins generosity and when success is placed at the service of others.
His physical departure on May 31, 2026 leaves a profound void in our hearts. However, his example will continue to live on in every person who had the fortune of knowing him.
He is survived by his children,
Luis Alberto and his wife Amy along with their children Daniel, Chloe, and Emma,
Luis Enrique and his wife Rogvia along with their son, Noah, and
Lois Melissa and her husband Timothy along with their children Kamyla, Emily, and Luciana.
He will live on in the love of his family.
He will live on in the gratitude of those who received his help.
He will live on in the projects he helped build.
And he will live on in the lasting memory of all us who learned from his wisdom, his leadership, and his kindnes
A visitation to honor his memory will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at South Park Funeral Home beginning at 5pm. A rosary will begin at 7pm.
A funeral service will be held the following day, Wednesday, June 24, beginning at 2pm at South Park Funeral Home. A burial will immediately follow.
