Louise Degollado's Obituary
Louise Maldonado Degollado, born on March 12, 1934 in Needville, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on February 12, 2022 with her family by her side. The beloved wife of Margarito† for almost 60 years, she was a mother of four daughters, Deborah (Tyler), Patricia†, Cecilia and Melissa and grandmother to ten grandchildren, Celeste, Felix, Anastacia, Jeremy, Kristan, James, Marisa, Miranda, Adrian and Victoria.
In 1976, Louise began working as a part-time waitress where she thrived for over 30 years. She attracted both co-workers and patrons with her charm and wit and remained friends with many long past her retirement. In her spare time, she attended the local parks and recreation centers, where she discovered some of her favorite hobbies such as flower arranging, painting, ceramics and a variety of crafts. She was also a long-standing member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Louise never met a stranger as she was a true social butterfly. Her huge heart and endless generosity was touched by many, and she never wavered in showing people how much she loved them, whether it was checking in by text message, crocheting scarves and hats or making birthday cards. Her family was her pride and joy and she embraced every moment with them. There was nothing she loved more than sitting around her kitchen table for hours playing bingo and UNO, where she would laugh, poke fun and play by her own rules. Impressively tech-savvy, Louise also enjoyed connecting and communicating with her family and friends online, including Facebook and her favorite game, Words with Friends.
Louise will be dearly missed by her family, but they will forever hold on to the memories of her most loving ways. A private memorial service will be held in Louise’s honor at the Houston National Cemetery on March 11, 2022 where she will be laid to rest with her husband Margarito
