Louis Gutierrez Jr.'s Obituary
Louis (Luisito) Gutierrez Jr. entered the loving arms of Our Lord on February 17, 2026, at the age of 73. Louis was born in Richmond, TX on September 9, 1952, to Helen Gutierrez and the late Louis Gutierrez Sr. "Luisito", was also known as Luigi, Bob, Popo, Senior, and El Viejo.
Louis was preceded in death by his father, loving Grandparents Cristina and Norberto Gutierrez who he loved living with, Grandparents Concepcion and Felix Moreno, brother Richard Gutierrez, Beloved Younger Sister Olga Gutierrez, In-Laws Simona and Santana Fernandez and many other souls who he held close to his heart.
Louis dedicated his life to his wife, children, family, church, La Virgencita and work. Louis began his life caring and watching over his siblings and early in life added the responsibility to be a husband and father. He did all he could to be a good provider and at times worked multiple jobs. At an early age he worked in the fields picking cotton, alongside his Grandpa Norberto Gutierrez. As a young child, he shined shoes in Downtown Houston. Later, he would begin working in the air-conditioning/refrigeration industry from 1970 to 2019, when he retired. His work allowed him to travel to New Orleans, Lima, Peru, Philadelphia, Nashville, and Orlando but he most importantly traveled throughout the Harris and Fort Bend County areas, sharing his love for La Virgencita and praying the Rosario every Tuesday, without fail - in many homes for over 25 years. Although his level of education was not high, he was always eager to help and learn and with a "hard work" ethic and "go get it" attitude that allowed him to hold a management position for almost 30 years. In this field and throughout life he thrived on being a helper, protector and setting standards for those he loved.
Louis will always be remembered by his loving wife of 58 years, Maria F Gutierrez; children: Elida Lara (Jose), Louis Gutierrez III (Michelle), Idalia Gutierrez (Michael) and David Louis Gutierrez; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; his mother; 2 sisters; along with many extended family and friends who loved and cherished him.
