Lou Cammack's Obituary
Louieann (Lou) Woodward Cammack, beloved wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away on December 3, 2019 at the age of 85. Lou was born in Houston, Texas on February 9, 1934 to Allen and Mary Woodward. She graduated from Lamar High School in January 1953, then graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Elementary Education. She married Virgil Eiland Cammack in December 1959. Virgil started a law firm in Pasadena, Texas in 1963 so the family moved to Pasadena.
Lou loved her friends. She belonged to Mu Alpha Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Parkview Estates Garden Club, and Rotary Ann's. Movies and shopping with friends were high on her list of fun. She and Virgil loved western dancing, playing bridge, and travel. In the early years travel was with their children Cathy, Bud, and Keith. Later, it was trips with couples, and, finally, coming full circle, it was with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lou enjoyed teaching but retired early to be with her kids. Many family events took place in their family home of 51 ½ years (1968 - 2019).
Her greatest love was her family. She and Virgil were married for almost 58 years and were blessed with 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. They belonged to the First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena. Lou leaves behind her brother George Woodward, her sons Bud and Keith Cammack, daughter Cathy and husband Jerry Lowry, grandson Wayne Lowry and wife Lacey (great-grandchildren Addisyn, Teagan, Trip), granddaughter Brittany and husband Weldon Cupp (great-grandchildren Honour, Layson, Blakeleigh), grandson Thomas Lowry and wife Samantha, and grandson Trevor Lowry and fiancee Jericha McCorkle.
There will be a graveside service at the South Park Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas on Saturday, December 21, at 10:00 am and a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena, followed by refreshments in the Fellowship Hall.
