Mrs. Lora Bunting Arteberry Stevens' Obituary
Lora Ethel Bunting Arteberry Stevens, age 94, of Alvin, Texas passed away Wed., Oct. 12, 2016 at Regency Village, Webster, Texas. Lora Ethel was born Feb. 12, 1922 in Dundas, Illinois, and was a resident of Alvin for 57 years. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by husbands Cyril Arteberry and Robert Stevens, her parents Oliver and May Bunting, brother David Bunting Sr., and son-in-law Roger Gebert. Her primary occupation was housewife and mother, but she held many jobs: phone switchboard operator, shoe factory worker, beautician, beauty shop owner, and child care provider.
Lora Ethel is survived by her son Micheal Arteberry and his wife Sharon, and daughter Rebecca Gebert, grandchildren: Karen & Tim Dicken, Mike & Angi Fox, Dawnett & Alan Willis, Tracie & Ben Galindo, Mike & Angie Arteberry, Steven Gebert & fiancé Victoria Trappe, and Aaron Gebert, great grandchildren: Kevin & Emily, Kimberly, & Kelly Dicken, Miranda, Tabitha, & Daniel Fox, Andrew & Abbie, Adam, Darah, & David Willis, Benjamin & Logan Galindo, Amanda & Travis Jones, Miranda & Jody Lowen, Matthew Arteberry, and Amanda Arteberry, great-great grandchildren: Isaac Dicken, Dallas, Savannah, Rance, & Max Jones, and Holden & Greyson Lowen, many people who called her “Mom” or “Grandma”, and numerous family and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Southpark Funeral Home 1310 North Main St. Pearland, TX 77581. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, October 16, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with June Stoker officiating. Burial will be in Southpark Cemetery.
