Lonnie Lester Scott's Obituary
Lonnie Lester Scott was born October 31, 1962, at St. Joseph
Hospital in Houston, Texas. he passed away at the age of 59 on August 9, 2022, at Houston HCA West Hospital.
The Scott family attended Magnolia
Park Baptist Church on Avenue F
in Houston for over twenty years.
At the age of six, he gave his heart
to Jesus and was later baptized when he joined Mason Drive Baptist Church in Houston.
Lonnie attended school in the East end area of Houston.
He went to Franklin Edison, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston in 1981. After graduating, he worked several jobs, he worked for Walgreens in their Kempwood warehouse for many years, He was still working there up to the time they relocated. He later worked for CISD as a supervisor in their warehouse, He was employed there for ten years.
Lonnie enjoyed working with his hands, he learned mechanics and plumbing from working with his dad over the years, He was definitely a "Jack of All Trades", if he didn't know how to do something mechanical, he would research YouTube videos and figure it out. He was very handy and thought-full, oftentimes he would help out
family of friends with their projects or issues; be it vehicle repairs, or property issues, if he cared about you, he would definitely bend over backwards to help in your time of need.
Lonnie enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting, cruising around, and checking out flea markets. Most of the time he had his best friend General Beauregard (Beau) his Jack Russell with him. He lost his best friend on New Year's Day almost ten years ago. He really missed his friend.
He loved classic cars and was very knowledgeable about many models and makes of cars, not just the classics. He would be watching Mecum Auto Auctions on TV and he knew details about a lot of those cars and trucks. After he'd say them , the announcers would be repeating the same facts.
Lonnie enjoyed the rodeo. He went to Houston and Pasadena Rodeo several times with his Sister. He loved watching PRC Rodeo bull riding. He would always watch those yearly competitions on cable. He is survived by his Mother, Kathleen Scott, his two sisters, Sandy Reyes and Brenda Kenney (Art)
He has two nephews, Chris Reyes (Brandy) and Sam Kenny, along with two great nieces, Lucy and Lily Reyes. There is one uncle and five aunts plus numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Lonnie Lee Scott, maternal and paternal Grand-parents, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
