Mrs. Lois F. Pippin's Obituary
If Roses Grow in Heaven
By Dolores M. Garcia
If roses grow in heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there’s an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
Lois Francis Pippin
May 1, 1935 - April 1, 2018
On Sunday, April 1, 2018 as the most holy of days, Easter Sunday drew to a close Lois Francis Pippin passed peacefully from this world to her heavenly home where she joined her beloved Curtis Ray Pippin, Sr. Though her body was frail and tired, she never lost her beautiful smile or her witty sense of humor right to the very end.
Lois was born on May 1, 1935 in Denton, Texas and spent her childhood in Texarkana, TX. She was the second youngest of eight children and the youngest girl. She often reminisced about how her three older sisters worked and spoiled her by buying her fancy dresses, socks and hats. Lois married the love of her life Curtis Ray Pippin, Sr. in 1950 and moved to Pearland, TX in 1954 where she would live for the next 64 years. She never lost a fondness for her home town of Texarkana, returning every year with her children and then her grandchildren for visits and family reunions.
There was never a dull moment with Lois, you just never knew what she would say next. She had a laugh that was so infectious you couldn't stop yourself from smiling when you heard it. She loved sweets, playing slots, reading and her family; not necessarily in that order. She gave so much and asked for very little in return. Her door was always open and most days you could find family and friends sitting around the table talking or playing card games. She always had a meal cooked on Sunday's for the whole family to stop by and enjoy. Her home was a safe harbor for anyone who found themselves in need of one. She baked, she cooked, she babysat, she did anything anyone ever asked her to do. She was the type of person who literally could not say, no.
She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Ray Pippin, Sr., her parents and all seven siblings.
Lois is survived by her four children: daughter, Becky Kaminsky and husband Gary, daughter, Debbie Moser, daughter, Cyndi Ellis and husband Michael, son, Curtis Ray Pippin, Jr. and wife Kay, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and beloved family friends.
She will forever be missed, adored and remembered.
