Lois loved the outdoors which included fishing, gardening, raising flowers, and having a well kept yard. She received the honor of “Yard of the Month” at the age of 90. She loved her family and friends and visited them up until her vision and ability to drive got worse at the age of 85. She would still go out to her garage and start her car and just sit in it, usually until it ran out of gas and even then she would just sit in it. She loved all little children and couldn't pass one up without talking to them and hugging them. Grocery shopping usually took hours because she stopped every basket with a baby or young child and talked to their parents. She had 2 ‘Baby Dolls’ in the Health Center that she held and cuddled while she sat in her wheelchair. At first she would tell the nurses, “I don’t know why they left those kids for me to take care of?” They just laughed. As time passed, she would wrap them in a blanket and hold them all day long and took care of her babies.
Although she hasn't known who we were for about the last 8 to 10 years, she will be greatly missed. After almost 102 years, her body got tired and she drifted off to a very peaceful sleep.
Serving as pallbearers are, Lamar Lewis, Jeff Lewis, Roger Lewis, Matt Lewis, Sean Lewis & Connor Lewis.
