I would like to extend my condolences to the family of Linda Deleon. Linda and I first met
as Greeters at New Hope Church in Manvel, and we were close friends ever since. Linda was a sweet and kind person and always considered others in her daily thoughts and prayers. She was a special friend to me, and I thank God that I had the privilege of knowing her and her wonderful family. We were always doing something crazy with each other, and this earned us the nickname of "Double Trouble" when anyone would see us together. We laughed and thought that was a very appropriate nickname for us. Linda always was happy to "just go" somewhere and enjoy life. She loved her family with her whole being, and I admired her for that. Family always came first with Linda.
I will miss my dear friend more than anyone knows. I will miss the happy times, sad times, eventful times and fun times with her. She is what I thought a "good friend" should be like--sincere, loving and supportive. She always had your back and whatever you wanted, she wanted for you. We enjoyed the movies, the Lake Jackson Opry Reunion shows, going out to eat together, Pearland's high school plays, New Hope church services, and just taking the time to visit with each other. Even when she was diagnosed with her cancer, she would say, "I will call you when I feel good, and we will go do something." She loved my son, Lowell, like he was hers and always asked how he was doing even when she was not feeling well. Friends like her are hard to find, and I am grateful for that friendship.
I know that her family will miss her very much. I pray that God gives you the strength
you need to continue in this difficult time. She was an extraordinary person who will live in our hearts forever.
I am not saying goodbye to you my friend because you will always be with me. I am
glad you are now free of the pain and already making lasting friends in Heaven.
The most wonderful places to be in this world are: In someone's thoughts, in someone's prayers, and in someone's heart. Linda was in all of those places.
Sunsets are proof that endings can be beautiful. Rest in peace my friend.
